We\u2019re going to tell you which are the 5 members of the Venice Textile Manufacturers and their plans to protect the textile traditions in the Veneto region.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\">We\u2019ve discussed about it with Rodolfo Bevilacqua, who\u2019s told us why the weaving mill has joined this project.<\/p>\n<h2 style=\"text-align: left;\">A network of companies to save textile manufacturing in the Venetian area<\/h2>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\">The 5 protagonists of this story are 5 textile companies, located between Venice and Treviso, covering 850 years of history. In addition to Tessitura Bevilacqua, the others are:<\/p>\n<ul style=\"text-align: left;\">\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/blog.lanificiopaoletti.it\/en\/\" target=\"_blank\">Lanificio Paoletti<\/a>, a wool mill founded in 1795;<\/li>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/serica1870.com\/\" target=\"_blank\">Serica 1870<\/a>, producing silk fabrics since 1870;<\/li>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/www.maglificiogiordanos.com\/#\/en\/\" target=\"_blank\">Maglificio Giordano\u2019s<\/a>, a knitwear factory opened in 1948;<\/li>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/www.mtvv.it\/\" target=\"_blank\">Manifatture Tessili Vittorio Veneto<\/a>, which has been making clothing fabrics for 30 years.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\">These companies share a top quality <a href=\"https:\/\/www.luigi-bevilacqua.com\/en\/weaving-seen-by-a-weaver\/\" target=\"_blank\">craft production of fabrics<\/a> and clothes. As well as their <strong>strong connection with the local territory<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<h2 style=\"text-align: left;\">The weaving tradition in Veneto: why maintaining a connection with the territory<\/h2>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\">Part of these companies\u2019 value stems from their roots in this region: \u201cHere we have some individuals and skills that <strong>can\u2019t be found elsewhere in the world<\/strong>\u201d, explained Rodolfo Bevilacqua.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\">In the Veneto region, the craft of weaving <strong>dates back to centuries ago<\/strong>: namely to the 13th century, when Venice traded in fabrics all around the world. And then moved the manufacturing of silk, cotton and wool to the mainland.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\">Actually, this tradition is even older: in the Eighties, some fragments of one of the oldest Italian <a href=\"https:\/\/www.luigi-bevilacqua.com\/en\/?p=4408\" target=\"_blank\">vertical looms<\/a> were found in Vicenza. And they dated back to the 4th century BC.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\">The 5 Venice Textile Manufacturers have inherited this tradition. But to keep on preserving it they had only one solution: building a team.<\/p>\n<h2 style=\"text-align: left;\">How the Venice Textile Manufacturers was born<\/h2>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\">The idea is rooted in the friendship and mutual respect between these companies, as well as in a shared awareness: united they can aim for <strong>bigger plans<\/strong>. \u201cAnd that\u2019s exactly what urged us to build a network\u201d.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\">Indeed, this group is not the answer to a crisis, but rather to the wish to broaden their horizons. In order to do that, they need to <strong>share their knowledge<\/strong>. If these companies didn\u2019t focus on the future, they wouldn\u2019t simply close: they would cause the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.luigi-bevilacqua.com\/en\/who-were-the-first-velvet-manufacturers-at-bevilacqua\/\" target=\"_blank\">end of a tradition<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\">Take our weaving mill, for example: if we didn\u2019t train new weavers, nobody could <a href=\"https:\/\/www.luigi-bevilacqua.com\/en\/weaving-according-to-diderot-and-dalembert\/\" target=\"_blank\">use our looms<\/a>. So a part of the history of Venice would be lost for good.<\/p>\n<h3 style=\"text-align: left;\">The aims of the business network<\/h3>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\">According to Rodolfo Bevilacqua:<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\">We all share the will to preserve our know-how in this area and to bring some ancient &#8211; and recent &#8211; traditional textile crafts back here.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\">So the goal of this group of companies is to collaborate in <strong>bringing these traditions into the modern world<\/strong>, to let them survive. Which means, first of all, to let people know about them.<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\">We\u2019ve already identified some projects, which we\u2019re just about to start. Oltre alla Tessitura Bevilacqua, ci sono:<\/p><ul style=\"text-align: left;\"><li>il <a href=\"https:\/\/blog.lanificiopaoletti.it\/\" target=\"_blank\">Lanificio Paoletti<\/a>, fondato nel 1795;<\/li><li>la <a href=\"https:\/\/serica1870.com\/\" target=\"_blank\">Serica 1870<\/a>, che produce tessuti in seta dal 1870;<\/li><li>il <a href=\"https:\/\/www.maglificiogiordanos.com\/#\/it\/home\" target=\"_blank\">Maglificio Giordano\u2019s<\/a>, aperto nel 1948;<\/li><li>le <a href=\"https:\/\/www.mtvv.it\/\" target=\"_blank\">Manifatture Tessili Vittorio Veneto<\/a>, che da 30 anni producono tessuti per abbigliamento.<\/li><\/ul><p style=\"text-align: left;\">In comune, queste aziende hanno una <a href=\"http:\/\/www.luigi-bevilacqua.com\/la-tessitura-vista-da-una-tessitrice\/\" target=\"_blank\">produzione artigianale di tessuti<\/a> e capi d\u2019abbigliamento di altissima qualit\u00e0. Ma anche il <strong>forte legame con il territorio<\/strong>.<\/p><h2 style=\"text-align: left;\">La tradizione della tessitura in Veneto: perch\u00e9 restare legati al territorio<\/h2><p style=\"text-align: left;\">Parte del valore di queste aziende sono proprio le loro radici in questa regione: \u201cQui ci sono persone e conoscenze <strong>introvabili in altre parti del mondo<\/strong>\u201d, ha spiegato Rodolfo Bevilacqua.<\/p><p style=\"text-align: left;\">La tessitura, in Veneto, ha una <strong>storia vecchia di secoli<\/strong>: da quando Venezia, nel XIII secolo, commerciava i suoi tessuti preziosi in tutto il mondo. Per poi spostare la lavorazione di seta, cotone e lana anche nell\u2019entroterra.<\/p><p style=\"text-align: left;\">Ma, a guardar bene, la tradizione \u00e8 ancora pi\u00f9 antica: negli anni Ottanta, a Vicenza, sono stati trovati i resti di uno dei pi\u00f9 <a href=\"http:\/\/www.luigi-bevilacqua.com\/i-segreti-della-tessitura-2-penelope\/\" target=\"_blank\">antichi telai verticali<\/a> italiani. Datato IV secolo a.C.<\/p><p style=\"text-align: left;\">Perch\u00e9 le aziende che hanno ereditato queste conoscenze possano continuare a salvaguardarle, l\u2019unica soluzione \u00e8 fare squadra.<\/p><h2 style=\"text-align: left;\">Com\u2019\u00e8 nata la Venice Textile Manufacturers<\/h2><p style=\"text-align: left;\">L\u2019idea \u00e8 nata da un rapporto di amicizia e stima reciproca, ma anche da una consapevolezza: unite, le aziende potranno puntare a <strong>progetti pi\u00f9 grandi<\/strong>. \u201cEd \u00e8 proprio questo che ci ha convinto a fare rete\u201d.<\/p><p style=\"text-align: left;\">Questo gruppo non \u00e8 infatti una risposta a una crisi, ma al desiderio di spingersi verso nuovi orizzonti. E, per farlo, \u00e8 indispensabile <strong>condividere le conoscenze<\/strong>. Se queste aziende non si preoccupassero del futuro, non perderebbero soltanto posti di lavoro: segnerebbero la <a href=\"http:\/\/www.luigi-bevilacqua.com\/chi-erano-i-primi-produttori-di-tessuti-di-seta-alla-bevilacqua\/\" target=\"_blank\">fine di una tradizione<\/a>.<\/p><p style=\"text-align: left;\">Provate a immaginare: se non pensassimo a formare nuovo personale, nessuno sarebbe pi\u00f9 in grado di <a href=\"http:\/\/www.luigi-bevilacqua.com\/la-tessitura-secondo-diderot-e-dalembert\/\" target=\"_blank\">usare i nostri telai<\/a>. E quindi un pezzo di storia di Venezia andrebbe perso.<\/p><h3 style=\"text-align: left;\">Gli obiettivi della rete di aziende tessili<\/h3><p style=\"text-align: left;\">Secondo Rodolfo Bevilacqua:<\/p><p style=\"text-align: left;\">C\u2019\u00e8 una comune volont\u00e0 di preservare il saper fare sul territorio e riportare qui antiche, ma non troppo, attivit\u00e0 tradizionali connesse al tessile.<\/p><p style=\"text-align: left;\">Scopo di questa rete di aziende \u00e8 quindi collaborare per <strong>trasportare queste tradizioni nel mondo moderno<\/strong>, per farle sopravvivere. Il che significa, prima di tutto, farle conoscere.<\/p><p style=\"text-align: left;\">Abbiamo gi\u00e0 individuato dei progetti, che avvieremo a breve. Un primo esperimento lo abbiamo gi\u00e0 fatto lo scorso maggio con <a href=\"https:\/\/www.laviadellalana.it\/\" target=\"_blank\"><em>La via della lana <\/em><\/a><a
