But we\u2019ll try to do that anyway. At the St. Regis Hotel, for example, you can find one of our Italian interior fabrics. Now, this may sound as though it\u2019s just another hotel in the city. But it isn\u2019t, because the St. Regis occupies an entire island &#8211; the San Clemente Island &#8211; and is surrounded by history.<\/span><\/p>\n<h3>The San Clemente Island in Venice<\/h3>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><a href=\"http:\/\/www.luigi-bevilacqua.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/08\/Isola-San-Clemente.jpg\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignleft size-medium wp-image-6302\" src=\"http:\/\/www.luigi-bevilacqua.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/08\/Isola-San-Clemente-300x206.jpg\" alt=\"San Clemente Venice | Tessiture Bevilacqua\" width=\"300\" height=\"206\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.luigi-bevilacqua.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/08\/Isola-San-Clemente-300x206.jpg 300w, https:\/\/www.luigi-bevilacqua.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/08\/Isola-San-Clemente.jpg 800w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px\" \/><\/a>The San Clemente Island is private and not far from Saint Mark\u2019s Square, in the middle of the Venetian lagoon. It therefore has the same aim as when it was founded, <\/span><b>in 1131<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">: letting people\u2019s soul and spirit find some peace. The only difference? Now your soul can find some rest with all the comforts of a hotel marked as a 5 star. And the stars are pretty bright.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">But the history of the San Clemente Island hasn\u2019t always been this peaceful: after hosting a hospice for pilgrims &#8211; who left from here for the Holy Land &#8211; and a monastery, its buildings turned into the Central Women\u2019s Mental Hospital of Veneto, closed only in 1992. And the period immediately after its closing down wasn\u2019t that quiet, either: the island &#8211; which was then uninhabited &#8211; was at the complete mercy of thefts and urban decay.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">This state of neglect, however, didn\u2019t last long: people reported it and this led to the purchase of the island and to its restoration. And helped saving the <\/span><b>San Clemente church<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, as well, dating back to the Renaissance.<\/span><\/p>\n<h3>Italian interior fabrics on a folding screen<a href=\"http:\/\/www.luigi-bevilacqua.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/08\/Tessuti-per-larredamento-St-Regis.jpg\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignright size-medium wp-image-6306\" src=\"http:\/\/www.luigi-bevilacqua.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/08\/Tessuti-per-larredamento-St-Regis-225x300.jpg\" alt=\"Italian interior fabrics St Regis | Tessiture Bevilacqua\" width=\"225\" height=\"300\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.luigi-bevilacqua.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/08\/Tessuti-per-larredamento-St-Regis-225x300.jpg 225w, https:\/\/www.luigi-bevilacqua.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/08\/Tessuti-per-larredamento-St-Regis.jpg 600w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 225px) 100vw, 225px\" \/><\/a><\/h3>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Another surprise is hidden in the reception, because the <\/span><b>folding screen <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">separating it from the adjoining room is covered in Bevilacqua\u2019s <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.luigi-bevilacqua.com\/en\/project\/giardino-antico-soprarizzo-velvet\/\" target=\"_blank\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Giardino Antico soprarizzo velvet<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">A galaxy of colours &#8211; light blue, yellow, green, red, bordeaux and brown -, leaves and flowers, partly placed in a vase, partly arranged as a crown around it.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The <\/span><b>garden motif<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, with multicoloured flowers, was used for the first time in Genoa between the 17th and 18th century, and it therefore perfectly suits the <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.stregisvenice.com\/\" target=\"_blank\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">St. Regis Hotel<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u2019s interiors. And it thus completes a style made up of antique carpets, Murano-glass chandeliers and luxury fabrics with another piece of Venetian handicraft.<\/span><\/p>\n<span
