Hotel Danieli is proud to celebrate 200 years of hospitality by presenting a series of cultural initiatives to enhance its historical and artistic heritage. Among them, is a beautiful costume for the Carnival 2022, made with a Bevilacqua brocatelle.<\/p>\n

Hotel Danieli History<\/h2>\n

A period costume for the 200\u2070 anniversary of the Danieli<\/h2>\n

In 2022, on the occasion of the Carnival celebrations, German artist Tanja Schulz-Hess has created a costume exclusively for the Danieli, inspired by the hotel’s 200 years and Venetian excellence, called “In love with Hotel Danieli.” Some of the fabrics used to make the costume have been provided by the historic weaving company Tessitura Bevilacqua. The handmade lace has been offered by atelier Martina Vidal of Burano, two masks respectively by “Tragicomica” and “Casin dei Nobili” and the glass beads by “Marisa Convento” resident artist at Bottega Cini.<\/p>\n

Tanja will wear the costume during her stay at the hotel to showcase it and interact with guests. She will also wear it to participate in the contest of the most beautiful Venetian mask.\u00a0 At the end of the Carnival celebrations, the costume will be displayed in a showcase in the common areas of the hotel, to be admired for all its excellent workmanship.<\/p>\n

Senatori brocatelle for the celebratory costume of Hotel Danieli<\/h2>\n

One of the fabrics used by Tanja Schulz-Hess to create the carnival costume is Senatori brocatelle<\/a> in gold. A magnificent fabric with iridescent reflections whose pattern encloses a part of the history of Venice. In fact, it takes up the typical pattern of the stole worn by the Senators of Venice at the time of the Serenissima and represents heraldic symbols, the crown and the rose, emblems of nobility, honor, and power.<\/p>\n

Brocatelle<\/a>, despite the assonance with the name of another precious fabric, brocade, belongs to the lampas family. It is characterized by complex interweaving of wefts and warps in silk and linen that, thanks to different tensions in the weaving process, give rise to a design in relief that stands out from the ground of the fabric.<\/p>\n

Un costume d\u2019epoca per il 200\u2070 anniversario del Danieli<\/h2>

Nel 2022, in occasione delle celebrazioni del Carnevale, l\u2019artista tedesca Tanja Schulz-Hess ha realizzato un costume in esclusiva per il Danieli, ispirato ai 200 anni dell\u2019albergo e alle eccellenze veneziane, dal nome \u201cIn love with Hotel Danieli\u201d. Alcuni dei tessuti con i quali \u00e8 stato realizzato sono stati donati dall\u2019antica azienda Tessitura Bevilacqua, il pizzo lavorato a mano dall\u2019atelier Martina Vidal di Burano, due maschere offerte rispettivamente da \u201cTragicomica\u201d e \u201cCasin dei Nobili\u201d e le perle di vetro di \u201cMarisa Convento\u201d artista residente presso Bottega Cini.<\/p>

Tanja indosser\u00e0 il costume durante la sua permanenza in hotel, per renderlo visibile ed interagire con gli ospiti, inoltre lo indosser\u00e0 per partecipare al contest della pi\u00f9 bella maschera veneziana. Al termine delle celebrazioni del Carnevale, il costume verr\u00e0 esposto in una teca negli spazi comuni dell\u2019hotel, per essere ammirato in tutta la sua eccellente fattura.<\/p>

Il broccatello Senatori per l\u2019abito celebrativo dell\u2019Hotel Danieli<\/h2>

Uno dei tessuti utilizzati da Tanja Schulz-Hess per creare il costume carnevalesco \u00e8 il broccatello Senatori<\/a> in color oro. Un magnifico tessuto dai riflessi cangianti il cui disegno racchiude una parte della storia di Venezia. Infatti esso riprende il motivo tipico della stola indossata dai Senatori di Venezia ai tempi della Serenissima e rappresenta dei simboli araldici, la corona e la rosa, emblemi di nobilt\u00e0, onore e potere.<\/p>

Il broccatello<\/a>, malgrado l\u2019assonanza con il nome di un altro tessuto pregiato, il broccato, con cui condivide l\u2019eleganza e la bellezza, appartiene alla famiglia dei lampassi. \u00c8 caratterizzato da complessi giochi di trame e orditi in seta e lino che, grazie a tensioni differenti nel processo di tessitura, danno vita ad un disegno in rilievo che si stacca dal fondo del tessuto.<\/p>
