A procedure that follows a long tradition and that does not overlook any detail. The lining is in soft leather and there are two compartments inside: one with a zip and our logo and an inside pocket covered with velvet. Strong and independent as Artemisia Gentileschi<\/a>‘s personality, well known in Italy in the first half of the 17th century<\/strong> and to whom this bag is dedicated. One of the most important exponents of female Baroque painting<\/strong>, perhaps the first, perhaps the best known. Her talent made its way into an era when being an artist was a man’s thing.\u00a0 Artemisia fought so vigorously against that masculine society, that she became a symbol of feminism<\/strong> in more recent times, and emerged with a very personal style<\/strong>. Just like the portraits for which Lavinia Fontana<\/a>, a 16th-century mannerist painter<\/strong>, became famous, and to whom this clutch bag is inspired by. Lavinia had a prolific career<\/strong> as a painter and sculptress, venturing into mythological, biblical and sacred subjects. But she became famous especially for her portraits<\/strong>: with great attention to detail<\/strong>, she was able to bring out the clothes, accessories and hairstyles of her models, highlighting their beauty and richness, and for this reason tickling their vanity. The finishes are in authentic Italian leather and the closure, a snap button, is in golden metal as are the chain handles<\/strong>, made more functional by the useful leather shoulder straps. The interior, also lined in soft leather, houses two compartments: one closed by a zip and one covered with the same outer velvet. It’s inspired by Maddalena Corvina<\/a>, an artist who was born in Rome in 1593, from a family of Flemish origins: her maternal grandfather was a painter<\/strong> and her father a miniaturist and naturalist<\/strong>. So much was her passion<\/strong> for painting, in particular for miniatures<\/strong> both of portraits<\/strong> and still lifes<\/strong>, that she dedicated her whole life<\/strong> to it. Maddalena remained unmarried, soon becoming famous<\/strong> and receiving many awards<\/strong> for her work. Unfortunately, the grace and elegance of her works can only be admired today in very few remaining examples<\/strong>. Proprio come i ritratti per i quali divenne celebre Lavinia Fontana<\/a>, pittrice manierista<\/strong> del XVI secolo, a cui questa pochette \u00e8 ispirata. Lavinia ebbe una prolifica carriera<\/strong> di pittrice e scultrice, cimentandosi in soggetti mitologici, biblici e sacri. \u00c8 ispirata a Maddalena Corvina<\/a>, artista che nacque a Roma nel 1593, da una famiglia di origini fiamminghe: il nonno materno era pittore<\/strong> ed il padre miniatore e naturalista<\/strong>. Tanta fu la sua passione<\/strong> per la pittura, in particolare per le miniature<\/strong> sia di ritratti<\/strong> che di nature morte,<\/strong> che ad essa dedic\u00f2 tutta la sua vita<\/strong>. Maddalena, infatti, rimase nubile, divenendo presto celebre<\/strong> e ricevendo moltissimi riconoscimenti per il suo lavoro. Purtroppo, la grazia e l\u2019eleganza delle sue opere si possono ammirare oggi solo in pochissimi esemplari rimasti<\/strong>.
