Red
Red is the color that best represents energy and warmth and over the centuries, it has been associated with different uses and meanings. For the Aztecs, Western Medieval royals and Chinese imperial dynasties, red was a symbol of authority, power, wealth, prosperity and good fortune.
Today, ancient pigments such as madder (Rubia tinctorum, a plant) and kermes (a type of cochineal) are no longer used, and the range of shades is wide, like the ones in our catalog of upholstery fabrics.
In its most classic shade, our red is a color that instills warmth and that can instantly catch one’s eye; ibisco is a more intense shade with surprising iridescent effects on velvets; antique red is a slightly darker shade, elegant and with a vintage flair; corallo inspires an immediate sense of energy and liveliness; pomegranate, finally, is a dark tone, extremely elegant and ideal for creating a contrast in a neutral and light tone room.
